I am homeless and have heard about your group's food distribution program.
I never hear it advertised and don't know where the distribution points are.
Is there a continual schedule? I read in the newspaper that you don't distribute
food to people with, in or that have shopping carts. I would like to know can
you be more plain about this. Do you mean you won't give food to people with
shopping carts, or they can't put it in the cart? Please explain.

Thanks, that's good to know. Is that every Thursday?
I used to hear about the group in Waikiki. Do they still go there? What kinds of numbers do you see. I would want to leave my cart somewhere in eyesight, off property where I could keep an eye on it without being lost in a crowd.

The day is not good for me, but if it's a holiday I may try it. Sounds like an all day affair. Sounds like too much going on and too many people for me to effectively monitor the cart. Seems the people who really need food are faced with overwhelming obstacles sometimes. I have experienced more difficulty than people who get assistance from the state. Thanks for the info.

P.S. I don't "steal" shopping carts. It's not necessary. They're all over, left by legitimate shoppers and others that take them
and leave them all over.
[§633-16]  Unauthorized removal of shopping carts, etc.; notice; exceptions.  (a)  A person shall not remove, without proper authorization, a shopping cart, shopping basket, or similar device from the premises of any business establishment, including any parking area maintained for the customer of the business establishment, or any sidewalk or passageway adjacent to the business establishment, for any purpose whatsoever.

I am wondering if your organization may have changed the regulations about shopping carts. The holiday coming up would allow me to come to the Kalihi location on Thursday.

You can also give me information about holidays. Is there still a distribution?

Yes there is still a distribution in Kalihi.  STN Feeding The Hungry distributes under the freeway at the Hawaiian Samoan First Assembly of God Church on Vineyard and Palama.  We have not change our police regarding shopping carts.  You can not shop with a stolen shopping cart.  There will not be a distribution this Thursday as it is Thanksgiving.

We will not distribute until next week Thursday.
Shopping carts are not allowed even if you own they as it would cause too much confusion.
Please send any additional email questions to info@surfingthenations.comand the the Feeding The Hungry Team will handle your questions.
